Does the library have a Friends group?

The Friends of the Library of Walla Walla meets on the third Thursday of the month at noon at the Library. Friends are dedicated to strengthening and promoting the Public Library, building community and financial support, and encouraging volunteer involvement. Everyone is welcome to join. Does the library have genealogy resources?

The Library has a Pacific Northwest Collection, featuring books about early Walla Walla County and Washington State for in-library use. With your library card, you may also access the online databases Ancestry (in-library only) and HeritageQuest.

Do I have to bring my library card with me every time I use the library?

You are encouraged to bring your Library card each time you visit. If you have photo ID we can look up your card but prefer that you bring your card.

Does the library take donated books or magazines?

The Library appreciates the gift of donated material but it is evaluated with the same criteria used when new material is purchased so we do not always add the items to the Library's collection. Please call for more information.

Why do library cards expire?

Most Library cards expire after two years to give the staff the opportunity to verify that we have the correct and current address, phone number and email information for you.
