What happens when a book is damaged?

When a book has been checked out frequently, it will often need to have attention paid to its binding or cover or other minor repair. If you are reading a book and it needs to be repaired, please bring it to our attention when you return it. If you have to use the bookdrop for its return, put a rubber band around it and that will alert us to take a look at it.

Library material was damaged during the time I checked it out. How much do I need to pay for its repair or replacement?

If Library material has been torn, been exposed to weather, or has been damaged in any other manner including missing covers or barcodes, please bring the material to the Circulation Desk so that the damage can be assessed and fees or replacement costs explained. You may click here to view the fee schedule online.

The application for your ibrary card includes a signed agreement that you are responsible for the timely return of materials, in an undamaged condition, which are checked out to you or your dependents.
