Veterans Day Celebration

Join us at the library to honor and thank our veterans on Veterans Day, Saturday November 11 from 10 am-1 pm. We’ll create art and letters for soldiers deployed around the world, and have flags and streamers on hand to cheer the parade beginning at 11:11 a.m. that will pass by the library on Alder Street. Afterward, everyone is invited back inside to hear stories from local veterans through the Veterans History Project, a program of the Library of Congress that records and preserves stories of veterans from all branches and ranks who served at any point since World War I.  These DVD video recordings of stories from our local veterans will play throughout the day in the main reading room, and are available anytime for checkout through the library’s catalog at https://catalog.wallawalla.bywatersolutions.com/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=141400
