Featuring selections of award-winning dramas, documentaries, foreign language, experimental, art and vintage films from Kanopy, the library's FREE streaming service!
March's selection is a group of short early films from women directors, including "Falling Leaves," by Alice Guy Blanché, "Harlequin," "Papageno," and "The Stolen Heart," by Lotte Reiniger, and "A Night On Bald Mountain," by Claire Parker and Alexander Alexeieff. More women worked in film during its first two decades than at any time since. These films are all drawn from Kanopy's "Early Women Filmakers" collection that highlights the work of 14 of early cinema’s most innovative and influential women directors, re-writing and celebrating their rightful place in film history.
