Author Visit: Tessa Hulls

Author Tessa Hulls will speak about her writing process and her graphic memoir "Feeding Ghosts".

 Walla Walla Public Library invites all community members to meet graphic memoirist Tessa Hulls on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the Walla Walla Public Library, 238 E. Alder Street in Walla Walla, in partnership with The Listeners Project: Queremos Escucharte.  

Artist, writer, and adventurer Tessa Hulls will share Feeding Ghosts, an illustrated memoir of intergenerational and immigrant trauma with starred reviews from Kirkus Reviews, Publishers Weekly, and Booklist. Hulls’ essays have appeared in The Washington Post, Atlas Obscura, and Adventure Journal, and her comics have been published in The Rumpus, City Arts, and Spark. She has received grants from the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, 4Culture, and the McMillen Foundation, and she is a recipient of the Washington Artist Trust Arts Innovator Award. Feeding Ghosts is her first book. 

A reception with light refreshments will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the main reading room, followed by Hulls’ talk at 6:45 p.m. Spanish interpretation will be available on-site at this event, with ASL interpretation available with advance notice.
