A Writing Life with Kisha Schlegel and Jennifer Boyden

Join us for A Writing Life with authors Kisha Schlegel and Jennifer Boyden who will discuss their books and their writing lives.

Kisha Schlegel's first book, Fear Icons: Essays, is the winner of the inaugural Gournay Prize. Fear Icons uses iconic figures from Donald Trump to Liberace to ask: Who are we to each other when we're afraid? Kisha teaches creative writing at Whitman College and has also taught several sessions of creative writing to veterans of the Red Badge Project at the Public Library.

Jennifer Boyden is the author of The Chief of Rally Tree, winner of the Siskiyou Prize for Environmental Literature. And is the author of two books of poetry, The Declarable Future (Four Lakes Prize in Poetry) and The Mouths of Grazing Things (Brittingham Prize in Poetry).  Jennifer is a former instructor at Walla Walla Community College and Whitman College, and now serves on the faculties of Spring Street International School and Eastern Oregon University's low-residency MFA program.
