Information session for Development Services job openings

The City of Walla Walla will host an information session for prospective applicants for open positions in the Development Services Department. The event will take place in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 15 N. 3rd Ave.

At the information session, Development Services and Human Resources staff will provide details about the positions and the minimum qualifications required, and explain the application process. The event is free and open to the public.

About the Positions

The City is seeking applicants with excellent customer service, sound professional judgment and problem-solving skills, who will be able to successfully resolve complaints and problems within our community. The positions’ job descriptions are summarized below.

Code Enforcement Officer: Perform activities related to the administration and implementation of the City’s Code Enforcement program, with a Development Services focus. Manage field investigations involving violations of municipal code.

Building Inspector: Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with safety standards, codes and regulations. Examine construction drawings, specifications and building project proposals. Provide the public with information about construction codes and processes.

Building Inspector In-Training: Receives on-the-job training and experience under supervision of the Building Official to become proficient in the inspection of construction sites and buildings, to ensure compliance with safety standards, codes and regulations. Examine construction drawings, specifications and building project proposals. Provide the public with information about construction codes and processes.
