Sewing Lab: Intentional Mending using the Sashiko Technique

Have a favorite sweater, pair of jeans, family heirloom linen? Bring your mending project to our library Sewing Lab and learn how to mend using Sashiko inspired embroidery stitches.

Sashiko is a traditional Japanese art of functional embroidery defined by its use of the running stitch and geometric patterns. Mend, re-use and restore a piece of clothing and feel good about keeping textiles out of the landfill!

10% of global carbon emissions come from the clothing industry and 85% of textiles end up in the landfill annually.

Sewing supplies provided for the workshop.
