Creative Lab: The Art of Kintsugi, Japanese Repair (CANCELLED)

Kintsugi (golden joinery) is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold. The process differs from other restoration techniques in that the visibility of repair is intended to be obvious and enhance the beauty of the piece.

Bring in a small piece of pottery, ceramic plate or cup to repair.

All repair materials are provided by the library. If you do not have a small piece to bring in, the library will have samples to select from.

Each class is limited to 12 people (ages 18+). Sign up by emailing Twila Tate, Public Services Librarian, at ttate@wallawallawa.gov or calling 509-524-4443.
